Investing out of our sixth fund, Bullpen is sector-agnostic,and our portfolio companies range across areas such as healthcare, fintech,SaaS, consumer, and gaming. Our investments have included FanDuel, Life360,JackPocket, Brightside, OneRail, AvantStay and Splitwise.

We look for companies with great founders and strong product-market fit in categories that don’t seem like obvious wins.

Position Overview:

As an analyst, you’ll be on the front lines. The core of this job is evaluating new investments—identifying compelling opportunities in areas familiar and unfamiliar, fielding inbound deals, and sourcing others.

The organizing principle of Bullpen is original thought accompanied by high conviction. We gravitate towards scrappy individuals who are self-driven and motivated by curiosity and the propensity to learn. Our most successful analysts have had a mix of quantitative skills, exposure to startups and technology companies and experience with organizations at their earliest stages.

This position is four days in person in our San Francisco office.

Skills and qualifications:

·       Strong project management experience and can set and meet deadlines independently. You’ll be expected to manage the end-to-end diligence process for multiple companies coming through our pipeline simultaneously.

·       Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.

·       Passion for startups and networking (deal sourcing via demo days, events, investor meetings).

·      Value learning.Whether you’re doing a deep dive on a new sector or putting together a competitive analysis for a potential investment, having a propensity for learning is critical to becoming a great investor.

·      Strong communicator and can distill large amounts of information and persuade others to your point of view.

·      Bachelor’s degree with a record of high academic achievement

·       0-3 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, or startups

·       0-3 years of experience in deal flow. This position is an apprenticeship at its core and prior investing experience is not a must-have.

·       This position is based in San Francisco.

Previous analysts have gone on to join other leading venture funds and become founders or executives at portfolio companies. Our goal is to professionally train and prepare you for any challenge.
